Emre Ekmekci is a seasoned tech entrepreneur and executive with over 25 years of experience in e-commerce, marketing, fintech, ed-tech, and omnichannel retail. He currently serves as an Independent Board Member at Migros Turk AS, Turkey’s leading supermarket chain, and at Digital Area, a subsidiary of Bank of Georgia. Emre is also the Co-founder and Chairman of Rubibrands, an e-commerce aggregation business. Previously, he was the President and Chief Commercial Officer of Hepsiburada (Nasdaq: HEPS), where he also founded HepsiPay, the company’s fintech solution. Before that, he led Doğan Online Group Companies and launched Groupon Turkey (Sehirfirsati.com) with Rocket Internet. Emre has served as President of the Turkish E-Commerce Association and Vice President of the Turkish Chamber of Commerce’s E-Commerce Council. He holds an MBA with honors from Columbia Business School and a B.Sc. in Industrial and Systems Engineering from the University of Southern California.
